Overview
Springwood group of companies is an Edmonton based real estate development firm focusing on development and long term ownership of commercial real estate in Western Canada. Springwood holds a diverse portfolio of real estate including office, retail, industrial and multi-family assets and continues to actively seek new development opportunities. Springwood is proud to manage 100% of its real estate internally and this portfolio now exceeds 1,500,000 square feet. Over 150 businesses, including national, regional and local companies lease space in Springwood properties.
The company was founded in 1975 by William K. Butler on the fundamentals of creating and maintaining strong relationships with tenants, and financially responsible development; these objectives continue to be paramount within the organization today. The senior management of Springwood boasts over sixty years of real estate development experience. Springwood excels at taking land parcels through the entire development process from acquisition of land, planning and development issues, leasing, finance and construction.
Since 1995, Springwood has focused on large format retail development and the past ten years has seen our attention focused on Cornerstone projects, 30-45 acre Wal-Mart anchored developments in western Canada's growing secondary markets. As of 2009, we have completed ten Cornerstone projects and still maintain ownership in all but three of them, focusing on high quality management.
Property Management Services
Springwood manages 100% of its properties internally to ensure the highest level of management and tenant relations. This enables us to respond to tenant issues in the quickest possible time frame and allows direct feedback from our valued clients - the tenant. In addition to management of the company's own portfolio of income properties, Springwood also provides property management services for our joint venture partners and other owners of commercial and multi-family residential properties.
Joint Ventures
Springwood has been involved in a number of joint venture projects, combining Springwood development skills with clients wishing to acquire equity through a land holding or a tenancy commitment.

William K. Butler, P. Eng. Chairman
Chairman Mr. Butler is the founder of Springwood Developments Inc. He has a broad range of experience in construction, development, legal and other real estate related activities. In addition to a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta, he has industry experience in the mechanical and electrical engineering fields. Andrew Megson President
President Prior to joining Springwood in 2000, Mr. Megson spent five years with a national commercial real estate firm, specializing in retail leasing. Mr. Megson's primary responsibilities within the Springwood organization include land acquisition, financing, tenant leasing, and planning and development. Nathan Boskers, P.Eng.
Prior to working at Springwood, Mr. Boskers was a project manager with a general contractor, overseeing the construction of institutional type projects. Mr. Boskers is a Professional Engineer, with a degree in Civil Engineering, and a Masters degree in Construction Engineering and Management.
Mr. Boskers is responsible for the design and construction of new development projects. In addition, he is involved in planning, municipal approvals, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting. Darryl McClelland, C.A.
A graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Mr. McClelland worked with a major Edmonton based accounting firm, where he obtained his C.A. designation. His background includes accounting, taxation and preparation of financial statements.

Dan Woychuk Leasing Manager
Leasing Manager Prior to joining Springwood, Mr. Woychuk spent thirteen years with a national commercial real estate firm specializing in retail leasing. His background includes project leasing and tenant site selection, and he has built relationships with many of the top retailers in the market place.

Gordon Spooner Real Estate Manager
Real Estate Manager Prior to joining Springwood, Gordon enjoyed twenty four years with various national and regional real estate companies managing properties across Western Canada. His experience includes shopping centers, office buildings, strip centers, apartments and parkades.
